Ashland Youth Field Hockey 2024!
This year we are excited to be joining the Commonwealth Field Hockey League with a grade 3/4 and grade 5/6 team! We will also offer a "skills and drills" league for grades K-8. Practices for both the teams and the skills and drills league will be held on TUESDAYS from 5:30pm - 7:00pm at Ashland High School. Games for the 3/4 and 5/6 teams will be held on Saturdays (8 game schedule released late August) in the surrounding area.
We will learn the rules and fundamental skills of the game through engaging drills and scrimmages. We will focus on dribbling, passing, ball control, 3D skills and develop and overall understanding of the game and develop our field hockey IQ! No prior skills are required for the teams or the skills and drills league! 7th and 8th graders are welcome to join the Tuesday night skills and drills practices, but are strongly encouraged to play on the Ashland Middle School team!
Details:
- Practices for all players K-8): late August – October (Tuesday 5:30-7:00pm Tentatively) at Ashland High School
- Games (Teams Only): Saturdays, Sept 7, 14, 21, 28 Oct 5, 12, 19, 26. Times vary from morning-afternoon.
- Equipment needed: Stick, shin guards, mouth guard, and cleats. Goggles are required for 5/6 Team.
- Cost: $160 Travel Team (3/4 or 5/6), $130 Skills and Drills (K-8)
- Cost includes: reversible pinnie and mouth guard
- Registration opens: Saturday, June 1 at 9am! Team registration closes on July 19th. Skills and Drills Registration closes on August 10th.
