Nashoba Valley
Program General Information 
The Recreation Department is happy to offer an after school ski club to David Mindess School students. The program is for Ashland students grades 3-5. Students will ski/board at Nashoba Valley Ski Area after school on six Wednesdays starting January 8th
Age Requirements: 
Afternoon ski club for students in Grades 3-5.
Group Lessons: Traditional lesson for beginner and intermediate skiers with one instructor teaching to their group of students. Students will be placed in a lesson with students of similar age and ability. The lesson groups will consist of students from other schools, recreation departments and online registrations. Snowboard Lessons are not available at this time.
Class Placement/Class Size: 
When registering for lessons participants will be asked their ability level (Never Skied, Beginner & Intermediate). On the first day students will have a "ski off" to demonstrate their skills in order to be placed in the appropriate group level. If after the first day the instructor feels the student needs to have an adjustment for their class placement an adjustment will be made. 
Lesson Meeting Place: 
Ski lessons meet out on the snow in front of the Rental Shop. Please note that classes may begin and end on different slopes.
Postponements and Make-Ups: 
Please be sure to inform the parents that children need to be dressed for the elements, esp. rain, snow, or extreme cold. In the case of a postponement, the class will be made up at the end of the session. Lessons are offered on scheduled program dates. If a scheduled week is canceled by Nashoba Valley Ski Area, we will offer a make-up date to the programs. 
Equipment Rental
If you choose to rent directly from Nashoba Valley a representatives from Nashoba Valley will come to the Community Center here in Ashland for an equipment fitting night at Ashland Community Center in December.  They will size/fit and order ski rentals from Nashoba Valley.  Equipment will stay at Nashoba Valley and your child will sign it out and return it weekly at Nashoba Valley.  If you miss the fitting night and would like to rent skis from Nashoba Valley, you must take your child to Nashoba Valley before the program begins to be fit.
SEASON RENTALS:
You can also choose to rent from local businesses for the entire winter: Ski Barn in Westboro, Boston Ski and Tennis in Westboro, Ski Haus in Framingham and Village Ski & Snowboard are great options.  Costs vary depending on location.
Badges/Lift Tickets: 
In lieu of a lift ticket all students are issued a plastic badge that must be attached visibly to the student’s jacket. Badges will be collected weekly by chaperons at the end of the trip, there is a $5 charge to replace a lost badge. 
Release Form: 
Each participant is required to submit a Snow Sports Release Form each year.  If there are any participants who have not signed the waiver they will not be able to participate in the program. 
ALL SALES FINAL, refunds only issued if your child's seat on the bus is filled by a participant from the wait list.
